A Moratorium on TL; DR
I’ve been thinking a lot about the Internet and the “phrase” tl; dr, shorthand for too long, didn’t read. It’s curious how popular this phrase is and how it is often used with pride as in I am proud I cannot be bothered to read something longer than 300 words. Reading Anna Karenina is sharpening my affection for longer works. Sometimes writing requires length and to worship at the culture of brevity without realizing what may, at times, be lost, is something that is on my mind.
