Update
It must mean something, right, all this constant updating of the electronics of our lives? Not a day goes by when my PlayStation, Adobe products, iTunes and other iSoftware, Spotify, and so on require a “critical update” that forces me to wait, patiently, while the update downloads and installs. We accept this constant updating so passively because it’s largely one of those invisible technological mysteries. Most of us don’t really know what’s going on as a new code is downloaded onto whatever device to replace some kind of malformed or obsolete code. I keep thinking this constant updating must mean something about the imperfections of technology or the impermanence of technology but I’m not sure what.
